Areas London Snow Removal takes requests from
London Snow Removal takes snow clearing requests from homes and businesses in every part of London, Ontario, including Byron, Lambeth, Hyde Park, Masonville, Argyle and Old South. Requests from communities just outside the city are welcome too, and the reply says whether the work can be arranged there.
London neighbourhoods
The request form lists these areas in alphabetical order. Most are planning districts: the City of London's open data lists 42 of them, and the City bases its neighbourhood profiles on them, noting that they "may be larger than the neighbourhoods residents are more familiar with."

Five names are not planning districts. It describes Old South as a historic neighbourhood just south of Downtown and home to Wortley Village, "the commercial and cultural heart of the neighbourhood."
Other City planning districts
The City's other planning districts are part of London too, and requests from them are just as welcome. Choose Not sure or leave the area blank, and give your street address or nearest intersection.

Downtown and the Schedule C sidewalk streets
Downtown has a sidewalk deadline that most of London does not. Streets By-law S-1 requires every owner of land along the street sections in its Schedule C, titled "Central Business District", to remove snow and ice from the sidewalk along their lot lines before 10:00 a.m. on any day that is not a holiday under the Retail Business Holidays Act. Snow or ice left after 10:00 a.m. can be cleared by the City without notice, at the owner's expense.
Schedule C covers set blocks of downtown streets such as Dundas, Richmond, King, Talbot and York; the page on commercial snow removal lists each block and what else to include in a request for a downtown property.
Elsewhere, the City encourages residents to be good neighbours and shovel the sidewalk in front of their homes, but the by-law deadline applies only to the Schedule C streets. If your property is on one of them, say so in your request.
Byron and Lambeth are part of London
Byron and Lambeth are City of London planning districts, so choose them by name on the form, not Outside London. City winter rules apply there as anywhere in London: plows push snow from the road to the boulevard and can fill in driveways, and maintaining property access is the owner's responsibility. The page on driveway snow removal for homes covers that ridge and where the snow can go.
Nearby communities outside the city
Requests from just outside the City of London are welcome. Choose Outside London on the form and give the address; the reply will say whether the work can be arranged there.
Middlesex Centre
Middlesex Centre is situated "at the north and west limits of the City of London", Middlesex County says, and was formed on January 1, 1998 from the townships of Delaware, Lobo and London. Its communities include Ilderton, Kilworth, Komoka and Delaware, and its municipal offices are in the hamlet of Coldstream.
Thames Centre
Thames Centre "borders London directly to the east", Middlesex County says, and was formed on January 1, 2001 from the former townships of West Nissouri and North Dorchester. Its municipal address is in Dorchester, and its site lists community events in Dorchester and Thorndale.
Strathroy-Caradoc and the wider London area
Middlesex County puts Strathroy-Caradoc "approximately a 30-minute drive west of London". Reporting 2021 census data, CBC News listed the London census metropolitan area as the city plus St. Thomas, Thames Centre, Middlesex Centre, Strathroy-Caradoc, Adelaide Metcalfe, Central Elgin and Southwold, home to 543,551 people.
If your area is not listed
Send the request anyway. The area list is a shortcut, not a boundary: give your street address or nearest intersection, choose Not sure or Outside London, and use the message box for steps, gates or where snow can be piled. Use the form below or the one on the contact page. Sending a request is free and does not commit anyone to anything.
Questions about service areas
Does London Snow Removal take requests from Lambeth and Byron?
Yes. Byron and Lambeth are both City of London planning districts, and both are on the area list in the request form, so choose them by name rather than Outside London.
Can I send a request from outside the City of London?
Yes. Choose Outside London on the form and give your street address or nearest intersection, for example in Komoka, Ilderton, Dorchester or Thorndale. The reply will say whether the work can be arranged at that address.
My neighbourhood is not on the list. Can I still send a request?
Yes. The area list is a shortcut, not a boundary. Choose Not sure or leave the area blank, and give your street address or nearest intersection in the address field.
Which area do I choose for a Wortley Village address?
Choose Old South / Wortley Village. NeighbourGood London, a City of London site, describes Old South as a historic neighbourhood just south of Downtown and home to Wortley Village, and both names share one entry on the form's area list.
